I was born in Jakarta and moved to Germany in 2011, now finishing my fine arts diploma in Kassel. I have been working on collaborative projects, mostly performances and in the collective Agency for Contemporary Artistic Discourse & Collaboration, besides developing my own practices. Most of the things I do, alone and with others, are learning processes, where each work and performance are the methodology itself. My works have been mostly sound-based, which can mean sound-inspired, sound-involving performance/practices, or sounds as the chosen medium of output.
Years after escaping home, I’m now retracing my body through its past and whereabouts, taking into account the family politics, cultural dynamics, gender identity and religion I have been involved with. This is influencing what I do a lot.
I play gamelan and my favorite film director is Tsai Ming-Liang.
