MOODS Editions & MOODS Pool, founded by Miriam J. Carranza and Diane Hillebrand, offers a room for presentation, exhibition, lecture, work, action since 2016. MOODS Editions can have various formats and has no prefixes. What, where, how its content is shown is worked on and negotiated from scratch for every new issue.
Issue #0 unknown moods was published within a Residency (A–DASH) in Athens from February until April 2017. The second issue #1 inflated story is realized within the sideprogram of documenta 14 in August 2017.
In continuation to our moodboard (#0 unknown moods) MOODS Editions is interested in gaps of interpretation, in how much and what we perceive out of words, images, songs and conversations which are designed with the intention to transport certain feelings, stir emotions or are the carriers of values and norms.
#1 inflated story focuses on the use of iconic elements and their various interpretations and readings: the universality of symbols as fragile and possibly failing transmitters for relationships and moods. For this we worked together on a moody soundtrack for the central station in Kassel during documenta 14 with the two sound artists torus (Joeri Woudstra, NL) and malibu (Barbara Braccini, FR), who operate within a new ambient mix-culture and one visual artist Daniel Emilio (Daniel von Bothmer, DE). Have your feelings been designed? How do you perform your moods? What are these words saying that you pronounce and write everyday so unaware that they become almost unnoticeable, beyond our attentiveness. Do you like your inefficient tools of expression? How do you use them? Editors
